Building up on Ibra Wane’s first incursion into a curated, real-life experience of his art, this is the second edition of “VANILLA ICE CREAM.”

Within the folds of this title, Ibra warmly embraces the playfulness and wonders that are present in our journey, from childhood to adulthood—a journey marked by joyful and innocent moments, recalling to simpler times, the indulgence of vanilla ice cream, the insouciance. Whether as a child or later as an adult, these timeless delights are savored in moments of solitude or shared in community. In his words, it encapsulates “everything that embodies the art of discovering joy in simple things. Like savoring a vanilla ice cream, from the days of youth, through to any later moment in life.

Through his lens, Ibra Wane immortalizes life’s wonders. His unique approach is rooted in the ability to capture moments that awaken our different senses, employing as he would say ‘’curiosity to experience the every day,’’ savoring, and investigating light and color. A meditation on being, on existence.

When you gaze upon his photographs, you can almost hear the surrounding sounds, smell the aromas, feel the textures, and taste the flavors. Ibra transports us to a realm where we not only see but also imagine the scenes. His skill in encapsulating the essence of a moment is undeniably a gift, an authentic talent for documenting moments in the tapestry of time, preserving timeless joy. As he aptly puts it, this body of work is the synthesis of “a subjective poetry experienced as I build home all around the world, documenting these fateful places, faces, encounters with light and movement.”

Ibra Wane’s work emanates a profound sense of spirituality, articulating the ability to capture nuances, unseen by the naked eye but felt by the soul.
