In April 2025, I had the honor and privilege to visit Seyni Awa Camara’s home and atelier in Bignona, Casamance.

My friend Carla Gueye, a great artist, was mentored by the Senegalese giant and her sons, Saliou and Momodou, in her home atelier.

With her permission, I took what happens to be the last photos taken of our beloved Seyni, who departed in January 2026.
